The Boardwalk will be open on select dates until 9pm to allow visitors to explore the boardwalk and look for fireflies. We will have a staff member at the start of the boardwalk to answer any questions you may have.

Please park in the grass overflow lot and perpendicular along the driveway outside of the gate when the parking lot is full. Please do not park in the lot of the school/church that shares our driveway. We do not have permissions to park there for these events and you will be locked in.

This event is free of charge, but donations are very appreciated. Proceeds help fund preserve upkeep and programming.

We will have volunteers wearing high-viz vests & name tags along the boardwalk.

Event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather, please check our Facebook page for updates the day of.

Rules for guests on the Property to keep people & wildlife safe:

* No touching, capturing (in jars or other containers) or any other actions that cause harm to the fireflies, or other animals you may encounter on your hike.

* No flashlights, glow sticks, flashing lights, phone lights or flash photography allowed as this can affect their ability to attract mates.

* No bug spray, this not only kills mosquitoes, but also the delicate fireflies.

* No pets allowed on property.

* Please, no smoking on the boardwalk/Preserve property, it has been very dry, and fires can start very easily in these hot conditions.
