Scout Projects

Oakland Nature Preserve proudly works with numerous girl and boy Scouts annually in the pursuit of environmentally themed Gold Award and Eagle Award projects. The ideal candidates are not afraid of getting dirty, are committed to the environment, and seek to complete a project that will support our preserve and enhance our natural local habitats. We also accept Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award projects on a case by case basis.

Before contacting the volunteer coordinator about current available opportunities, please review Oakland Nature Preserve's Eagle Scout Projects Application & Guidelines. Starting in October 2026, all Scouts who wish to pursue an Eagle Scout Project at Oakland Nature Preserve must complete at least 4 volunteer or Scout Conservation hours at ONP within the last 12 months.

WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW PROPSOSALS FROM EAGLE SCOUTS. PLEASE REACH OUT IN LATE 2026 FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT FUTURE PROJECTS.
